beach, driftwood, shells, all paraphernalia I did find</B></I> </div> <div> <I><B>My heart yearned and the ache in my spirit was as old as beginning of time</B></I> </div> <bR> <div> <I><B>My dear mate smiled with twinkling blue eyes squinted by the sun</B></I> </div> <div> <I><B>Then grabbed my hand and looked at me and teased me just for fun.</B></I> </div> <div> <I><B>But little did I know, ten years from then destiny would take his hand</B></I> </div> <div> <I><B>In that same spot God swept him away as the ocean did the sand</B></I> </div> <bR> <div> <I><B>On that morning he gently kissed my lips and said, "Betty, honey I love you with all my heart"</B></I> </div> <div> <I><B>Never did I dream that with the next day's dawn his life with my Heavenly Father would start.</B></I> </div> <div> <I><B>My only son says, "You're two are too old to act like that," pulling him out the door</B></I> </div> <div> <I><B>Not knowing himself our next embrace would be on heaven's shore</B></I> </div> <bR> <div> <I><B>Off they went that Good Friday morn, in the Gulf of Mexico to fish for fun</B></I> </div> <div> <I><B>Went the loves of my life, my loving husband, my dearest son.</B></I> </div> <div> <I><B>They had a good time, enjoyed laughter and love on that fateful day</B></I> </div> <div> <I><B>They were to fish until 4, pack things up, and to home be on their way</B></I> </div> <div> <I><B>But the boat's engine failed with alarming speed as the sun began to set</B></I> </div> <div> <I><B>Seven and eight feet waves for almost fifteen hours was to face them yet.</B></I> </div> <bR> <div> <I><B>It was dark, no stars or moon, to serve as guiding light</B></I> </div> <div> <I><B>At midnight, my love drew his last breath, my son held his lifeless body tight</B></I> </div> <div> <I><B>As James, Lee, and Todd held on, their strength and brave hearts </B></I><I>cried</I> </div> <div> <I><B>Oh God in heaven help us, Mr. Fred has died.</B></I> </div> <bR> <div> <I><B>With the rise of the sun on that Saturday morn, 2 bodies they had found</B></I> </div> <div> <I><B>James' body the Coast Guard air lifted away as young Todd's body just sank down</B></I> </div> <div> <I>Why me, Oh God, </I><I><B>James did say</B></I><I>,</I><I> "I have no children like Todd and my brother Lee,</I><I> </I></div> <div> <I>Why did you choose to take them away and choose to leave only me?"</I><I> </I></div> <div> <I><B>A father's strength and warm embrace their precious children will never know</B></I> </div> <div> <I><B>Their eyes will not see their children's milestones or even watch as they grow</B></I> </div> <bR> <div> <I><B>That EASTER weekend changed so many lives in 1993</B></I> </div> <div> <I><B>James Landry lived to tell what happened, but to Heaven went Fred, Todd, and Lee Lee.</B></I> </div> <div> <I><B>When Jesus reached over the portals of Heaven, they were ready to go</B></I> </div> <div> <I><B>Into their Heavenly Father's Jacob of old in</B></div> <div> <B> the Old Testament, I wrestled with the pain of loosing family members--- in </B></div> <div> <B>the Gulf Of Mexico. </B></div> <bR> <div> <B>Jacob lost his family,  his own fault, due to treachery.  He never saw his mother again.</B></div> <div> <B>But loosing a family is to have your "roots"   uprooted, regardless of how you lose </B></div> <div> <B>them. To me, it would be worse to loose  anyone,  due to my own fault.</B></div> <bR> <div> <B> My family fought the good fight of faith un till they were  weary of huge waves all night</B></div> <div> <B> long.  My husband, Fred Burdette, Todd Burdette, my son,  and Todd's brother in law,  </B></div> <div> <B>Lee Lee Landry,  went home to be with Jesus.  James Landry lived to tell what happened.
